Born in Los Angeles, California, on May 5, 1952, Timothy Aguilar’s life began with adversity and resilience. Named after his father, a San Quentin inmate, and baptized after St. Timothy, he grew up in faith and perseverance under the care of his grandmother.
As a writer and journalist, his work has appeared in El Paisano, The Highlander, and The River’s Voice. He has also written stage plays for both Rio Hondo College and UCR. Aguilar’s academic achievements include membership in Phi Beta Kappa, the National Scholars Honors Society, and recognition on the California All-State Academic Team.
A lifelong believer in truth, justice, and compassion, Timothy Aguilar continues to write with the same conviction that shaped his life: to help others see history clearly and to live with purpose.
